Jennie Taylor

B.Sc. (Hons) Nutritional and Dietetics, Clinical Educator

In 2000 Jennie graduated from QMUC, Edinburgh with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Dietetics. Following graduation, she worked at University Hospital South Manchester in the specialist areas of lower GI surgery and critical care. Other areas of expertise include medical gastroenterology, nutritional support and Type 1 and type 2 Diabetes. In 2007 Jennie went on to become acute team lead at UHSM where she was heavily involved with development of the dietetic service, clinical education and student training.

In 2007 Jennie began working with Mr Bart Decadt in the North West of England. In 2009 they teamed up to form part of the experienced MDT at Spire Manchester Hospital. This hospital is one of only two centres in the UK that holds Centre of Excellence status.

Jennie has been heavily involved in ensuring that individuals under going bariatric surgery are well informed and supported throughout their weight loss journey. Jennie is keen to pass on her experience to other healthcare professional and continues to be involved in teaching and presenting in the field of bariatric surgery.

Jennie is currently the Specialist bariatric dietitian and dietetic lead at Spire Manchester Hospital.

Zowie Wild BSc

Dietician, Allied Health Professionals - Dietetics

Zowie Wild is a fully qualified and experienced Registered Dietitian. She graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree in Dietetics from Queen Margaret’s University she has a wealth of experience within the National Health Service (NHS) and private sectors practicing as a clinical and community registered dietitian.

“As a dietitian I focus on improving people’s health and well-being through prescriptive dietary means. The most rewarding part of my job is “knowing that I have a direct impact on improving people’s quality of life, health and self-esteem” Zowie’s main areas of interest include weight management, bariatric surgery, fertility, IBS, FODMAP’s dietary approach, general nutrition and health and sports nutrition.

She is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and a full member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA), Gastroenterology specialist group (GSG), Food & intolerance Group (FAIG), Dietitians in Obesity Management (DOMUK), Sports Dietitians UK (SDUK) and the Freelance Dietitians (FDG) specialist groups of the BDA and is currently undertaking an MSc in Exercise & Nutrition.

Janet McCormick

(Bariatric Nurse Specialist)

Conducts initial free consultations, follow-up clinics, band fills and co-ordinates the bariatric service at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital. Preparation for mentorship level 3, AIMS, ALS, band fill management practical and theory, IRMER, LEO course.

Suzanne Egan

Bariatric Nurse - Weight Loss and Pre / Post Operative Support.

Suzanne qualified as Enrolled Nurse General in 1981 at Stepping hill Hospital Stockport and was employed on a General Medical ward. She returned to study and proceeded to complete her Registered General nurse qualification in 1983, before returning to a general medicine environment as Staff Nurse. Suzanne developed her role further in general medicine and care of the elderly.

Suzanne joined Spire Manchester in 2001 as a Staff Nurse on the General Surgical ward, caring for patients having various surgical procedures acquiring very valuable knowledge and skills including a mentorship qualification of student nurses , manual handling coordinator for the hospital and bariatric link ward nurse. During this time she also became a senior staff nurse and then ward sister.

Suzanne joined the Bariatric department as specialist nurse in September 2011, since then she has acquired knowledge and skills that allow her to advise and care for our Bariatric patients within our clinical environment, to a quality that we have been awarded a Centre of Excellence Accreditation. Continuing to Build my Bariatric knowledge and skills as joint team lead with Colleague Dietician Jennie Taylor.

Lutfi Sulaiman

Consultant Anaesthesist

I’m Dr Lutfi Sulaiman. I am a Consultant Anaesthetist at East Cheshire NHS Trust in Macclesfield, where I have worked since 2007.

I have been the Clinical Lead for Anaesthetics and Critical care there since 2012. My areas of interest are Anaesthesia for Bariatric surgery, Management of difficult airways, Ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia particularly for Upper limb surgery and trans-thoracic Echocardiography for Critical care.
